Galand managed to recover and decided to use Critical Over after seeing Escanor as a threat to be eliminated at all costs. Believing the human who was scared of them earlier to be presumptuous, a drunken Galand laughed it off and Escanor did the same before he sliced the elite Demon in half by surprise, shocking Melascula out of her drunken state. When the sun rises, Escanor gets up as he bulks up and grows in power and recovers Rhitta from Galand, proclaiming himself as one of the Seven Deadly Sins and the one who is the top above all clans. Galand pats Escanor on the back a little too hard and knocked him out accidentally. A terrified Escanor agreed to play the game after Galand explained the details and the effects of Commandment of Truth's curse if one of them backs out. It is clear that Escanor named his tavern My Sweet Gluttony after Merlin, and spent 10 years as its tavern owner and bar tender.
